Rate My Holiday Forum Rules

Welcome to our community! This forum is for anyone who has visited, stayed at, or is planning a trip to UK holiday parks and resorts — to share experiences, tips, reviews, and advice. These rules exist to keep our space friendly, helpful, and respectful for everyone.

📌 1. Purpose & Scope

This forum is dedicated only to UK holiday parks, resorts, caravan parks, lodges, holiday villages, and similar UK holiday accommodation. Discussions about overseas holidays, non-holiday accommodation, or unrelated topics should be posted in the appropriate section or not at all.
All members are welcome regardless of experience — whether you’ve stayed at one park or visited dozens of destinations across the UK!

✍️ 2. Posting Guidelines

Share real experiences: Reviews, reports, photos, and advice should be based on your genuine visits. Do not invent experiences, exaggerate facts, or post misleading information.
Be specific and helpful: When discussing a park or resort, include useful details such as location, facilities, accommodation type, time of year visited, and what you liked or disliked. This helps other members plan their trips.
Search before posting: Check if your question or topic has already been discussed to avoid duplicate threads.
Post in the correct section: Use relevant categories (e.g., Reviews, Questions & Advice, Deals & Offers, Photos & Itineraries) so others can find content easily.

🤝 3. Respect & Behaviour

Be polite and courteous: Treat others as you would wish to be treated. Disagree respectfully — personal attacks, insults, or rude language are not acceptable.
No bullying, discrimination, or hate speech: We do not tolerate comments based on age, gender, disability, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
Stay on topic: Keep discussions focused on UK holiday parks and resorts. Avoid arguments, heated debates, or tangents that derail threads.
Respect differences of opinion: Someone else may have loved a park you disliked — that does not make their view wrong. Constructive criticism is welcome; being dismissive or hostile is not.

⚠️ 4. Criticism & Complaints

Be fair and reasonable: You are fully entitled to share negative experiences and honest reviews, but avoid excessive hostility, profanity, or unsubstantiated accusations. Stick to facts — what happened, when, and how it affected your stay.
This is a member forum, not customer support: Our community is run by members, not holiday park operators. If you have a complaint about a park, follow their official complaints process directly. We allow you to share your experience here, but we cannot resolve issues on behalf of parks or individuals.
Do not make defamatory statements: Avoid posting claims that you cannot prove or that may harm the reputation of a park, business, or individual. Stick to your own experience rather than making broad, unproven claims.

🚫 5. What Is Not Allowed

Spam and advertising: Do not post commercial adverts, links to external booking sites, repeated promotions, or affiliate links. Sharing a personal experience including where you booked is fine — selling or promoting services is not.
Private or sensitive information: Do not share personal details — yours or anyone else’s — such as full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or booking reference numbers.
Illegal or harmful content: No posts relating to illegal activity, fraud, theft, trespassing, or damage to property.
Inappropriate content: No offensive, explicit, violent, or adult material.
Multiple accounts or impersonation: One account per person. Do not pretend to be someone else or represent a business unless authorised.
Posting copyrighted material without permission: Ensure any photos, videos, or content you post was taken or created by you or you have the right to share it.

📸 6. Photos & Media

Photos of your holiday are highly encouraged! They help other members see what parks are really like.
Only upload photos you have taken yourself or have permission to share.
Do not post photos featuring other people without their consent.
Photos should be relevant to the park, resort, or holiday experience.

🛡️ 7. Moderation

Moderators will enforce these rules fairly and consistently. They may edit, move, or remove posts that break the rules, and issue warnings or restrict access where necessary.
If you see a post that breaks the rules, please report it using the report button — do not argue publicly.
If you disagree with a moderator decision, contact them privately rather than debating it publicly in the forum.

✅ 8. Best Practice

Help others — answer questions when you can and share what you’ve learned.
Be welcoming to new members.

Share both positives and negatives honestly — balanced reviews are the most useful!
Have fun and enjoy discovering great UK holiday destinations together.
